PhD students
Marie Blume, MSc
Marie is a PhD student interested in cognitive processes (e.g. self-regulation, attention, memory) and their association to disorders such as binge-eating disorder or neurological diseases. She is especially interested in methods to improve cognitive functioning with technology-based approaches, such as EEG neurofeedback or the use of virtual realities. Marie studied Psychology in Chemnitz, Leipzig, and Auckland (New Zealand). Besides research, Marie's greatest passions are surfing and traveling.
Julius Lars Breinker, MSc
Julius is an external doctoral candidate in the team. He is a clinical psychologist and graduated from universities in Salzburg (Austria) and Hamburg. His research focuses on treatment-seeking children and adolescents with overweight or obesity, especially their psychological characteristics before and after behavioral weight-loss treatment. After work, Julius likes to take a run in the nature or enjoys electronic music.
Sarah Matthias, MSc
Sarah is a psychologist working in a research project on smartphone-supported behavioral weight loss therapy. As she is also training to become a behavioral therapist, contributing to the improvement of existing treatment methods is of special interest to her. She studied Psychology in Jena and San Sebastián (Basque Country, Spain). Outside of work, Sarah loves surfing, spending time in her garden and singing with her friends in a pub choir.
Anne Müller, MSc
Anne is a clinical psychologist at the Integrated Research and Treatment Center AdiposityDiseases and is responsible for the psychological assessment of patients who want to undergo obesity surgery. She completed her master's degree in psychology at the University of Tübingen and is currently training as a behavioral therapist. Her doctoral thesis focuses on psychosocial factors in the multimodal therapy of obesity. After work, Anne enjoys long walks in nature, rowing or going to museums with her friends.
Lisa-Marie Okhof, MSc
Lisa is a psychologist working as a research assistent in a research project focussing on smartphone-supported behavioral weight loss therapy in obesity and as a study therapist in a treatment study evaluating acceptance-based behavioral therapy for binge-eating disorder. She is also in training to become a behavioral therapist, which is why she is especially interested in the further development and scientific contribution to existing treatment methods. Lisa studied Psychology in Halle, Leipzig, and Stellenbosch (South Africa). Besides work, Lisa loves to go hiking, cycling and enjoying a nice coffee with her friends.
Wenlu Mao, MSc
Wenlu is a PhD student who is interested in smartphone-based treatments for eating disorders. Her passion for this field stems from her academic background in clinical nutrition and eating disorders, acquired during her postgraduate studies at University College London, as well as from her experience in a day-care program. Outside of works, she enjots watching musicals and exploring new experiences through travelling.
Sarah Rösch, MSc
Sarah is a clinical psychologist working as a behavioral weight loss trainer and PhD student interested in neurofeedback, its potential as a complementary treatment option in mental disorders, emotion regulation, and impulsivity. She graduated from Leipzig University with a MSc in psychology and got fascinated about neurofeedback during her master’s thesis at the Behavioral Medicine Research Unit. Outside of work, Sarah loves being outside and being in the nature, and is part of the Leipzig group of Psychologists4Future, a group of people concerned about a sustainable future.
Danielle Schewe, MSc
Danielle is a PhD student working in a research project on smartphone-supported Acceptance-Based Behavioral Therapy for Obesity and Binge Eating Disorder (BED). Within her PhD, she is particularly interested in the therapeutic process in BED. Danielle holds a MSc in Psychology from the University of Leipzig. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys playing football, travelling and going for long walks with friends.
Ben Schreglmann, MSc
Ben is a PhD student who graduated from the Catholic University Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Currently, he works in the PRAC study, the psychosocial registry of obesity surgery. His research interests lie in the areas of neurofeedback and biofeedback as well as in computer- and technology-based approaches to understand the human brain and psyche. Outside of work, he mainly produces music but also has fun in other creative areas such as video editing, graphic-design, or programming.
